How to Manage Mapping with GuestPoint Channel Manager Standard
With our own channel managers, you can manage your mapping to Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) channels like Booking.com & Expedia straight from the GuestPoint software itself.
Navigate to Management > Channel Manager Tab > Channel Manager Mapping
From here you will see what channel managers your GuestPoint is currently connected to.
There could be a variety of integrations that show such as channel managers like GuestPoint Premium, GuestPoint Standard, SiteMinder, our own GuestPoint Booking Engine, the RoomPriceGenie revenue maximising integration, or GDS platforms we connect directly to like RecOnline or 7Point Hotel Distribution.
Locate your GuestPoint Standard channel manager connection and you should see two clickable icons.
Click into the left button Map to OTA Channels to start managing your mapping to OTAs through the Standard channel manager.
Select OTA the channel you wish to edit by clicking on the 'Actions' drop down selection and proceeding to 'Edit'
In the new Edit Channel screen, the first tab you see relates to the connection details & settings.
This is where you would put your connection ID and/or credentials required to connect to the OTA.
If your OTA has been pointed to GuestPoint Channel Manager Standard properly, you should see a "Successful Connection" line and when using the "Test Connection" button.
If you are yet to set up an OTA connection, the "Test Connection" button is what you use to see if the channel manager can connect to the OTA and bring up the mapping interface. If the Test Connection fails, you cannot map to that OTA yet.
To edit your mapping, proceed to the Mapping tab.
From here, you can change the mapping by clicking on the right-hand side options.
You will see two lines, the 1st line refers to the Room Type we are sending to the channel manager from GuestPoint.
The 2nd line refers to the rate plan we are sending from GuestPoint.
To delete the mapping, you can click the 'Bin' icon. Please be warned that this does not stop new bookings from coming in, this simply just removes the mapping.
To apply a channel-specific multiplier or flat amount increase/decrease, proceed to the Channel Settings tab.
This is where you can add a rate logic to apply only to this OTA channel. For example, you might apply a rate logic of a 15% multiplier for the Booking.com channel to help offset your commission cost that Booking.com takes.
Once you have made the desired changes, proceed to the 'Save' button and you will be brought to the OTA-channel list.
Proceed to the same channel and click into 'Actions' to do a 'Full Sync' to push across your changes to the OTA.
If you wish to add a new channel, you can do so by clicking the '+ Create' button. However, you may require assistance on what to do to successfully map to a new channel.
All channels have different connection instructions so please feel free to contact GuestPoint Support to see if your desired channel has any specific instructions on the OTA-level.
