To enhance the security of your property data and guest information, GuestPoint offers Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second form of verification when logging in, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access your system.
Follow the guide below to enable and configure MFA for your users.
Log into GuestPoint.
Click on the Management tab in the main navigation.
Select Setup Then Users & Rights.
Once in the Users & Rights section, locate the security settings to toggle MFA on.
Select the User account you wish to edit (or select the general security settings depending on your specific version configuration).
Toggle the switch for Multi-Factor Authentication to the ON position.
GuestPoint offers three different methods for authentication. You can choose the one that best fits your operational needs.
This is the most secure and reliable method. It requires an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) installed on a smartphone.
How it works: You scan a QR code provided by GuestPoint using your app. The app generates a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
Why choose this: It works without a cell signal and offers the highest level of security.
This method sends a One-Time Password (OTP) via text message to a designated mobile number.
How it works: When logging in, you will receive a text message containing a code that you must enter into GuestPoint.
This method sends a One-Time Password to an email address.
Important Note regarding Email OTP: You cannot use the same email address between accounts. You must designate a different email address to receive the authentication code.
Can I change my MFA method later? Yes, you can return to Management > Users & Rights to modify your authentication method if your requirements change.
What happens if I lose my phone? Please contact your property administrator to reset your MFA settings from the Management console.
